How GORGEOUS is this Wet N Wild Illuminating palette? I had no intentions of buying this but once I saw it in person I thought I just had to have it. As most of you know, Wet N Wild is such a great brand. They are Cruelty free, super affordable and their products are generally fantastic. I just couldn’t get over the beautiful variety in these Illuminating shades so that’s what sucked me in. I could visualize in my head exactly what I would use each shade for. And at only $3.99, why wouldn’t I at least give it a try? I know this has been out since January but I didn’t care, So home with me it went.
This is one of those products that I think everyone could get some use out of. Between the 4 beautiful color choices, to the different things you could use these illuminators for, it just simply has something for everyone. The far left shade is a light, golden taupe and just so happens to be my favorite in the pan. Although I do like all 4 colors, I just get more wear and use out of that one. Then the two middle shades are gorgeous alone or when mixed together. I even swirled them together one day and used it as a blush and I received multiple compliments on it. Then the far right shade is just absolutely stunning on the skin and it makes a pretty stand alone blush as well. Obviously not everyone is in to shimmery blushes, but worn in the right way, they can be stunning.
As a highlighter, the two left lighter shades work best for me personally. But I also like to swirl all 4 shades together and use it like a bronzer all over the outer sections of my face. It isn’t as shimmery as you would think but still beware and use a very light hand if you try that out.
This palettes four illuminating shades contain a PALE GOLD SHIMMER, a PALE PINK HIGHLIGHT, a GOLDEN PINK and a SHIMMERY BRONZE. Of the four, the shimmery Bronze was the most powdery for me. And the other three lighter shades are a bit chalky and patchy as well, but nothing I couldn’t work with. I do get a lot of fallout with this palette as well but I can totally justify that simply based on the price point.
Overall this palette wasn’t exactly what I was thinking it was going to be. However, that is not necessarily a bad thing and it actually turns out that I like it more as a blush palette than for illuminating. And one of my favorite ways to use this is when you swirl all four colors together that create a Pinky/Peach shade that is so subtle and beautiful. I think that almost anyone could get some use out of this palette unless you are looking for more of a “Strobe” effect because I don’t think this will give you the right amount of intensity for that.
I have no regrets on this purchase and I actually hope that Wet N Wild continue making this palette as it is slowly becoming a favorite of mine. Have any of you guys tried this palette out???
Stay Beautiful & Blessed! <3
