Happy First Day of FALL Y’ALL!
I still can’t believe it’s here! I feel like I just put away my Christmas tree a few weeks ago. But seriously, it seems like the years just get shorter and shorter the older I get. I am SOOOO looking forward to cooler weather. That is the one downside to living in Florida that I am not thrilled with. But I can deal with the heat in exchange for the living near the beautiful beaches and ocean. But luckily for me, we do live in the northwest part of Florida so it does cool off here in the winter months. And sometimes it even gets below freezing! I remember the first year we lived here, it actually snowed about 2-3 inches and the whole gulf coast just shut down. Now I am familiar with towns just shutting down because back in Georgia, as soon as you hear the word “snow flurries” everyone runs out and buys all the milk and bread off the shelves at the stores and the city just completely shuts down like it’s the end of the world. It’s quite funny actually, especially when you know how bad the snow can be up North and they deal with it and drive in it all the time. I don’t know how they do it. The snow is absolutely beautiful to look at, but what a mess it makes. I am thankful that i don’t have to deal with it personally. But I do love seeing all of the gorgeous winter wonderland like photos from all of our friends up North.
Next weekend my sister, niece and brother in law are coming in town for a few days. Unfortunately none of us can get together for Thanksgiving or Christmas this year. All due to our jobs and not being able to get the same dates off. So this next weekend we will all be celebrating “Thanksmas” together. In case you don’t know what that is, it’s when you celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas together. Yes, it officially stinks that we are having to celebrate so early and won’t even have any decorations or a tree up, but at least we get to be together. And of course that’s what matters most. I think me and my sister and niece Hailey are all going to go on the Destin Pirate cruise for something fun and different to do while the guys go fishing. And I’m hoping to make a nice Thanksgiving style meal on Saturday while their here too. I have been craving homemade Mac N Cheese since since we finished last years Thanksgiving so my fat butt is looking forward to that as well. (#fatgirlprobs)….
I guess this week I am most thankful for my continued healing, my family, and for Fall. All things Fall! (Except Pumpkin Spice Latte’s because they just aren’t my thing.) Otherwise, I am excited about getting some new fall clothes and boots, and about going to a Pumpkin Patch with the hubbs to take some family photos. In all 25 years that we have been together, we have NEVER went to an actual Pumpkin farm together, so this year it’s on my Fall Bucket list and I’m making it happen!
What are you guys looking forward to about Fall this year?
