I really love the Simple Brands philosophy about never using any type of artificial perfumes, dyes or other harsh irritants that could upset your skin. So anytime I see a new product out from them, I don’t even hesitate to try it. They are not only a really good brand all around, but they are also very reasonably priced as well. I had actually been on the hunt for a new daily moisturizer when I stumbled across this at my local CVS. What really caught my attention about it first is that it is a “light moisturizer with broad spectrum SPF 15 sunscreen.” As most of you already know, I live in Florida where the sun is no joke, so I have to wear sunscreen every single day. And when I say every single day, I mean EVERY SINGLE DAY. Even if I am not going anywhere but outside to walk my dog Dax for 10 minutes, I still wear it on my face and neck. I am 41 years old, and most definitely not trying to speed up my aging process nor get skin cancer, so I try to protect my skin the best I can.
I am not a huge fan of super thick moisturizers so I have really been enjoying this Simple one a lot. Especially since it goes on very light and is totally non greasy on the skin. And when I wear this under my foundation it doesn’t leave a white cast at all which is always a plus for me. This moisturizer contains Pro-vitamin B5 and Vitamin E which are both great for the skin, so I love that as well. I wish the SPF was a little higher than a 15 but I am just happy that it contains an SPF at all that doesn’t leave that white cast and doesn’t break me out.
I have rubbed in the moisturizer here on my hand so you can see how it does not leave the white cast.
I feel like this moisturizer works well and lasts throughout the day underneath my foundation. And I would also say that it works just as good, if not better than a lot of my high end moisturizers. And for the retail price of $13.49 (I purchased mine at CVS) I think this is quite a steal! I have very sensitive, combination skin and this did not break me out or make my skin overly oily or dry. In fact, I think it works as a great “base” before putting on my foundation. I get break outs all the time from different sunscreens so I am usually very hesitant about trying new ones. But I didn’t worry at all with this one since it was by The Simple brand.
