When I first read about all the hype surrounding a popular brand of Micellar water from overseas, I thought, people must be crazy to pay for a cleansing “water.”But just like anything else, I shouldn’t have judged it before researching it myself or at least trying it once to see for myself. So a few months ago I was checking out all of the new stuff on the skincare aisle at my local CVS drugstore when I noticed the Simple Brand products. I have tried several of the Simple Brand products before, and have liked everything from the brand I had tried so far. So when my eyes scanned over their newest product, this Micellar Cleansing water, I thought I might as well give it a try. Now up until this point of purchase, I did not even know this stuff existed. I had not seen, nor heard, any advertisements about it, not read one single blog review on it, nor any mentions on Youtube reviews or favorite videos. And it’s pretty rare these days that I find something beauty related that I have not at least saw somewhere in print or heard about from some Youtube beauty blogger. So needless to say, I was pretty excited to try this out. I honestly didn’t expect much from this product since I was already so skeptical about paying money for something that I thought mainly consisted of water. But let’s just say that I was pleasantly surprised…..
Let’s start with what exactly this stuff is first. And funny enough, this stuff is not actually just a water. It is actually a clear liquid cleanser that is chock full of tiny little cleansing agents called “Micelles.” The way that the Simple Brand described these was the best and easiest explanation I think when they said: “Think of a single Micelle as a tiny magnet, where one end is attracted to water, and the other end is attracted to oil.” So basically, you do not need to be near water or a sink to wash your face with this stuff. Which is actually kind of cool if you think about it. I know there have been a few occasions in my own life where I didn’t have the luxury of a sink to wash in (Camping trips from when I was a kid- we REALLY “roughed it” back then!) Or what about being part of a mission trip in a third world country? You don’t always have access water everywhere, we are just spoiled with easy access to it in the U.S. But even if you do have easy access to water it doesn’t matter with this stuff because you won’t need it. Basically the end that is attracted to the oil will clean out your pores and pull all of the “gunk” out of your face while the water loving end helps wet the cotton ball, thus cleansing your skin with what feels like a simple, “water like” solution. It’s quite genius actually.
As you can see above, this Micellar water was created with a “nice blend of multivitamins, skin loving ingredients, and gentle cleansers” which all help to cleanse and hydrate the skin all in one super simple step. I thought after using this that I would want to wash my face anyways, even though the directions say I didn’t need to. But honestly, if I use this the correct way, then my face feels perfectly clean. Now I will tell you how it goes when I use it. I usually end up using one cotton pad per eye with the solution generously pored onto each pad before use. And then I use one-two more for all over my face. Generally, if I have worn a heavier foundation on my face that day then I will need two pads to get everything off of my face. Then I just follow up with one of my moisturizers and call it a night. This is not what I do every single night, but rather on my “lazier nights.” It is perfect for when you are in a rush or overly tired and ready for bed. I just personally need a few more steps in my skincare regimen. And that’s mainly because I am a “mature” woman, and have those pesky old wrinkles to worry about as well.
I think that just about anyone would like to have this stuff in their “skincare stash” though. It’s just too simple and easy to use, and well, it just does a great job on cleaning your skin. So what’s not to love? I paid around $7.00, (I believe) for mine at Cvs and I think that is a very fair price for this product as well. And if your a couponer, then be on the look out for coupons from this brand. They are constantly putting out coupons for their stuff in magazines and the local papers. I already plan on purchasing another one of these before this one runs out because I like it so much. I even mentioned this product in one of my past “favorites” videos on my YouTube channel and I have had a few girls reach out to me and say that they took my recommendation and tried this, and guess what….
They all loved it too!
So the next time your browsing the skin care aisle somewhere, be on the lookout for this little gem! Have any of you guys tried this out yet yourself? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
Stay Beautiful & Blessed!
