Some women love to wear makeup and some don’t, some are serious fashionistas, and some just live in Yoga pants and Tee shirts, Either way, every women has certain things that they are more into or concerned about than others. But the one thing that every woman I know is totally obsessed with, is having healthy, shiny hair! I was into my hair way before my obsession with makeup started, and that was because my Mother used to be a beautician when I was just a little girl. She used me and my hair to practice on a lot so I had a bad perm pretty much all through my middle school years. Once she got a regular office type job, she got out of doing hair (THANK GOD) so I was able to let my hair grow out for once and just enjoy straight hair like I had always wanted. By my first year of high school, I was completely obsessed with hair, and that was right in the middle of the ” Big Hair” trend. When it was like a competition everyday to see who could get their hair to go the highest. Just for fun, I dug through all of my old photos to try and find one of me with big hair, so let the embarrassment begin….
Which one do you think is me????
I know it’s hard to tell which one is me, but that’s me in the all black outfit. Geez I still wear all black outfits a lot. But at least I know how to color my hair blonde now without it looking so…… Golden? LOL. Anyways, back to my review and reason for this post. I practically killed my hair all through high school, trying every new color fad that came out. I was that girl that died my hair with red Kool aid… So, needless to say, I put my poor hair through the ringer. The only shampoo and conditioner that we ever had in our house growing up was whatever my Mom could find on sale the cheapest. So usually it was really waxy, drying shampoos and conditioners that weighed down our hair and made it look greasy. So when I got a decent paying job as a retail manager, that is when I started using high end shampoos for the first time. I remember the first one I tried was the Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Shampoo and Conditioner. I don’t remember how much it cost exactly, but I do remember that it cost me a LOT, (Considering what my hourly pay was). But after I used it for about a week, I could see and understand why it was so expensive. My hair felt brand new, and was so much healthier looking. So I’ve been hooked on hair care products ever since…
I was first introduced to Pureology over 12 years ago in a sample pack that I received. I had never heard of the brand before so I googled them, and I immediately thought that it seemed like a great company because they are willing to give their customers back a full refund if they do not like their product. (And they still offer that same refund today.) I really enjoyed the sample that I had received so I looked into purchasing a full size and I about died when I saw how much these cost! I didn’t purchase any until I had received a bonus, because they were almost $60 for both the Shampoo and Conditioner, but OMG, OMG, OMG they were worth every penny. I used one that was specifically for color treated hair and it literally kept my hair from fading way longer than any other color care products that I had ever used. I have now been using Pureology products regularly for about 10 years now, and I’m a total fan. The one I have recently fallen in love with is the one pictured above. (Pureology Super Smooth).
This product, along with all other Pureology products are:
100% Vegan AND Contain Zero Sulphates
The size pictured above (8.5 Fl OZ) can be purchased on Ulta’s website for $29.50 EACH. I know what your thinking, DANG THAT’S EXPENSIVE for shampoo and conditioner. And while I totally agree, I also know that this product takes amazing care of my hair and is completely worth the price. You can find these on sale about once a year when Ulta marks all of their high end hair products 50% off (They just recently ran this sale for this year) So that’s a great time to stock up like I did. You guys know that I live in the high humid climate of NW Florida, and I suffer from frizzy fly aways all the time. But whenever I use this product before going out, it really keeps them at bay and my hair stays silky and shiny all day. Their products smell good, and are super creamy when lathering. The packaging is in different colors depending on what type of Shampoo/Conditioner you are buying and I like that a lot, because then when I run in Ulta to grab some, I know which color to look for so I can get in and out of the store quickly. (Yeah right, who am I kidding. You can NEVER get in and out of Ulta quickly). But anyways, if you have problematic hair like mine and cannot really use regular drugstore brands all the time, then I highly suggest giving Pureology a try. Once you try it, it will be hard to use any other hair care brands ever again! So to answer my own question, do I think they are worth the price? ABSOLUTELY! So go splurge and spoil yourself soon and pamper that hair ladies!
Is anyone else out there Pureology fans already? If so, which line is your favorite?
Stay Beautiful & Blessed!
