Let’s talk highlighters today, shall we? I received these gorgeous Pixi Glow-y Gossamer Duos about 2 months ago but you know me, always behind in the blogging department. (But, better late than never right?!) Since I am a little on the mature side at 43, I don’t layer on the highlight like a lot of you younger gals do, However I do like to use it in moderation. I have found that when I use more gold tone highlights they look best on my skin so that is what I am normally drawn too when I am shopping for a new highlighter. But I also love the look of Rose Gold tones as well even though they don’t love me back.
These Glow-y Gossamer Duos are both equally gorgeous and my photo just does not do them justice. I am drawn more to the one on the left just simply because of my skin tone and what looks good on me. I swatched both of these on my hand one time and let me tell you, boy are these babies pigmented and buttery soft! They look like they might be “glitter bombs” at first glance but they’re not at all. They are soft and not super metallic but can be blinding if you want them to be and give off that gorgeous wet look. You can use them for light makeup days because they apply light and natural looking but can be layered on to get that super glow if you want as well
The first two swatches from left to right are from the duo “SUBTLE SUNRISE”
And the second two swatches are from the duo “DELICATE DEW”
I am wearing the first shade on the left of my swatches from the Subtle Sunrise duo. This is using only one quick swipe across my cheekbones and a bit on my nose. I think it gives off a truly natural looking glow and without drawing attention to my skins texture like so many other highlighters do. This is a creamy powder that applies with such a gorgeous and natural looking “skin like” finish which I love! It wears well throughout my work day and doesn’t breakdown which is also a huge plus for me because I have had issues with others doing that only an hour or so after application.
These Duos contain Vitamin E to help nourish and protect, and Diamond Powder which helps with blurring out imperfections and brighten the skin. I love anything that helps to blur out imperfections because lord knows I have a lot. These retail for $16 at Target which may seem a little on the steep side for a drugstore highlight, but this can be compared in quality to several of my high end ones and is just as good if not better than them. SO in my opinion this is a great beauty buy and worth every cent!
Have you tried any new highlighters lately that I need to check out?
