And Liquid Light Technology for an instant, luminous glow.”
I was in the market for a new foundation and I came across this Loreal True Match LUMI a few weeks ago. It has a “new” sticker on it and the display was new at my Walgreens too. I’m in there several times a week and I pretty much know their cosmetics eisle like the back of my hand. But this supposed “new” foundation has been out for awhile. I’m guessing maybe they just had those stickers on them from when they really were new to beauty scene. But the Walgreens associates just did not remove them. Either way, this product was still new to me because I had never used this particular foundation before. I was a little skeptical about it at first just because it includes the word “LUMI.” I’ve found that a lot of products that claim to have “luminous” results actually just make me super oily. I have very sensitive, combination skin. It’s dry around my mouth, oily in my T zone, and can break out at any given notice. So I’m always super nervous about trying any new foundations. On one hand, I love to experiment with new ones. But then in the other, I’m always nervous that my skin is going to “freak out” when I put something new on it.
These come in 15 shades although I only saw about 10 choices at Walgreens. I chose a pretty warm shade for myself because I knew with Summer almost bring here that I would be getting dark in no time. I think that I actually should have even went darker to be honest. But I can work with this for awhile. I was instantly impressed with how silky and smooth this foundation felt on my skin. I could tell that before I was even finished with my application that it was going to give me a nice, Dewey finish, and it did. I have used a beauty blender type sponge, my fingers, and a flat top Kabuki brush for application. I prefer using the brush all over my face for a fast and easy application, and then I use a sponge around my eyes. This seems to take a minute to really “soak” into the skin so just beware of that. I use a setting powder right after I apply though so I think that helps a lot.
Loreal claims that this foundation is “made up of over 40% water which helps your skin to stay well hydrated all day long. It also contains antioxidant vitamins C & E for improved clarity and skin tone.
I used this foundation when I filmed my first “Get Ready With Me Video,” and then wore it for hours after filming. I was impressed with how long it lasted that day, and also when I filmed a “First Impressions” video on it. But now that I’ve worn it several times outside in the hot and humid Florida weather, I’m not as impressed. I have to touch it up a lot to keep from looking oily. And it seems to break up on top of my skin. So, if you are someone who gets oily all over, I think you should definitely skip this one.
Goes On Smooth
Wears Off Quickly
Can Make You Oily
BEST USED FOR:
LIght to Medium Coverage
Spring or Fall Weather
(Not good for hot or humid weather)
I will continue to use this until I empty it. However, I will be careful as to how and when I wear it. I think it is going to work best for people with dry skin, and any other time of the year except for Summer.
Have any of you guys used this foundation? If so, what did you think about it?
