This is totally one of those, “Youtuber made me buy it” kind of things. I was watching MakeupByTiffanyD one day and she was doing her monthly faves and she mentioned how much she loved the Jouer lip topper in Skinny Dip. At first I was thinking, Okay this looks pretty but I don’t know if I buy into the whole lip topper trend. I mean it sounds kinda gimmicky right? But once I saw Tiffany apply the Skinny Dip over a plain nude lippie it totally transformed how it looked and I knew I had to try it for myself.
I went on the Jouer website and signed up for their emails and almost immediately received a 20% off coupon from them, SCORE! So I purchased 2 lip toppers (Pictured above) and one gloss to try out. This was my first time purchasing anything from Jouer so I wanted to try out a few different items which included their ULTRA FOIL SHIMMER SHADOWS palette too, but at the time I placed my order this item was sold out. So I just went ahead and ordered my lippies. I ordered the Skinny Dip of course and then I chose Frostbite as my second choice.
JOUER SAYS:
“Long wearing lip toppers contain coconut oil. These weightless lip toppers instantly refresh and add shimmer to your favorite lip color. Wear alone or pair it with Jouer Long wear lip creme.”
And that is exactly what they do. Add these over any color lipstick or lip creme and you have a completely different look. Oh, and have I mentioned yet how these smell like Vanilla Cupcakes?
Skinny Dip is a gorgeous shimmering metallic golden nude. I think it looks best over any sort of nude, nudie browns or pinks, or even peachy toned lippies. But it also looks beautiful all by itself or just as a topper over a clear balm as well. Usually lip products that contain sparkle or glitter in them can tend to irritate me since you can usually feel a “grit” on your lips from the glitter itself. But the glitter in this is so fine that you really never even realize that you have it on. It is not sticky at all or at least to me it isn’t, and that is something that MakeupByTiffanyD mentioned as well. These truly wear really comfortably on the lips.
The Frostbite is a Shimmering Snowy Pearl. I chose this one because I thought out of all the shades, that this one would probably change the look of a lippie the most but I have figured out that I actually really love this product on all by itself. It is full of beautiful tiny sparkles that just make your lips radiate. I have some tiny lips and love anything that helps my lips look or appear larger, so I pile this on and love getting whiffs of the amazing cupcake scent from it. It does not necessarily make my lips look bigger but more so just draws attention towards them because of how shiny and sparkly it is.
I spent over an hour this morning trying to take some decent photos of these over a Jour lip gloss and ended up picking my self apart and deleting all the pics before I ever even tried to edit them. It’s just that my lips are so small and starting to really show my age so there’s really no helping them even with good editing. So I guess you will just have to imagine how gorgeous these are on. (Or you could just google lip swatches of them… DUH!) Then you will see tons of huge, full, voluptuous lips that can really show off just how beautiful these lip toppers are. I read an article recently about things that women over 40 should not do and wearing glittery makeup or lip products was one of them. Well ladies, I totally disagree. I think there is something fun and youthful about glitter so why we would ever want to stay away from it? I say we should ROCK GLITTER as long as we damn well please. And these Jouer lip toppers are such a fun way to do it.
I haven’t tried any Jouer products, but their Skinny Dip palette has been tempting me. I’m glad you enjoyed these and those sign up emails always get me… http://www.mrsqbeauty.com
I’m going to Gen Beauty next month and Jouer will be there. I am hoping to pick up Skinny Dip and Noisette if they are selling their products. Don’t be so hard on yourself with pics! I got some tips for you which may help you out. All of my lip swatches are exaggerated. My lips don’t really look at full. I make this insanely stupid face just to get the full look of my lips then crop out everything so you would never know. You can see right up my nose in the pics! My top lip is very small so this is the best way I can show the color on my lips in a decent pic. I also have to edit it out and smooth it so that my facial hair doesn’t show. I use the camera 360 app since I have an android but alot of people use facetune that have the iphone. If you email me, I can send you an unedited version of my lip swatches so you can see. I take several of them and crop them all then pick the best one. Give it a try !
Both gorgeous topper shades! I wish Jouer would come back to Sephora. I’d shop the brand much more often
They both look beautiful! I haven’t bought anything from them in quite a while!
I love their lipsticks and lip toppers! Those two are so pretty Julie! Enjoy

I really need to try some things from Jouer! I see a lot of their lip products around on blogs, so that must be a good place to start! These are so pretty! I think either would look beautiful over a red during the holidays.
Their so good girl! You should deff try a few from them when you get a chance.
These look amazing! The Skinny Dip shade has really taken my fancy. I’ve not tried any thing from Jouer, but I’ve seen so many great reviews of their products! I really need to look into them. I picked up a lip topper from Kiko a while ago, but I’ve not tried it yet. I really should! Thank you for reminding me to pull it out and give it a try. Xx
