When it comes to my skincare routine, I love using anything that helps me finish the process as fast as possible. And that is just one of the reasons that I have fallen absolutely in love with these Garnier Micellar Cleansing waters. I was a fan of the Simple Brand one and the Boots one as well. But after trying out these two, those others just don’t compare to me. I saw the pink capped one at Walgreens before I ever saw any type of advertisement or Blog/Youtube mentions but for some reason I didn’t pick it up. Then less than a week later, I was seeing it all over social media and blogs so of course I had to go back any get it. I normally wear waterproof mascaras and the pink cap one removes it just fine. But once I purchased the blue capped one that specifically says it removes waterproof mascara, I could definitely tell a difference between the two.
Now that I have both of these in my skincare arsenal, I like to use the pink one all over my face to remove my foundation, blush, etc.. And then I use the blue one just to remove my eye makeup. At one point I did try the blue one all over my face and my skin felt kind of nasty afterward where the pink one makes my skin feel clean and soft after use. So I think I will stick to using the pink one to remove face makeup only, and the blue one for removing my eye makeup only. Then, after using both of these, I follow up with either my oil cleanser or just a regular daily cleanser. I feel like using these on soft cotton pads is way less harsh on my skin than whenever I use makeup wipes. Especially on that delicate under eye area and around my mouth. And that is the one spot where I actually have a few wrinkles that I am trying to keep at bay. So anything I can do to try and protect those areas is a definite plus to me.
One of my favorite uses for these micellar waters is to remove makeup mistakes upon application. I just take a q tip and put it in the hole on the lid, then turn the bottle just enough to wet the q tip. Then I can easily clean up any eyeliner or mascara mistakes quickly and easily. The regular size q tips fit perfectly into the hole and “block it” just enough so that the product doesn’t spill out everywhere. I love the ease of cleaning up a mascara mistake without making it worse by smudging and this does the trick just fine.
I know a lot of you are probably thinking that it would just be easier to grab a makeup wipe and use it all over your eyes and face. And honestly, that would probably be a lot easier. But it is definitely not the smartest thing you could do. Most makeup remover wipes are usually pretty harsh on the skin where cotton pads are not. And some wipes can even cause skin breakdown and damage. So I would recommend at least giving these a try once or twice.
One of the really cool things about these is their “all in one” factor. Because they act as a makeup remover and facial cleanser at the same time. So you don’t have to follow up with a cleanser at all if you don’t want to, and there is no rinsing needed either. You don’t even have to rub this product into your eyes to get your waterproof mascara off, as it comes off with ease. They are both safe for all skin types INCLUDING sensitive skin and they DO NOT CONTAIN any Alcohol, Oil or Fragrance. And if you plan on doing any traveling this Summer, think about how amazing it would be to only have to pack ONE little bottle of product that will not only remove your eye makeup and face makeup, but will also throughly cleanse your skin as well. This is such a great multi tasking product!
